With this 3-piece set, I now have almost every blade needed to gourmet my way to food heaven.The julienne disk lets me do things I lack the patience for, while the thick blade lets me slice things like lettuce and tomatoes at a decent thickness, rather than the skimpy 4mm standard blade.
The fine grater is a good touch for finesse. Try doing a whole tangerine or orange by hand without scraping your fingertips and cursing the night. Blood orange never was a good color anyway.
Seriously, the set is a nice addition to the standard set of Cuisinart blades.
